1960 L.C. Toy, Mickey Mantle's Backyard Baseball, Sealed in Original Bag
Early baseball auto-return toy promoted by N.Y. Yankees star Mickey Mantle still sealed in original original bag. Comes complete with original two sided header card plus the original instruction sheet and black cardboard insert. Header card and instructions feature photo color-tinted portrait of Mickey Mantle. Instructions include schematic showing 1960's Dad wearing pork-pie hat and smoking a pipe "pitching to his son. I had one of these when I was a kid. It lasted about five minutes until the ball smacked my Dad in the head. Set includes a solid rubber ball with Mickey's facsimile signature. The ball is fastened securely to a heavy cord which passes through its center. The other end is tied to a 23" long blue painted, wooden stick. Most important parts of this set are the packaging components which are complete and the facsimile Mickey signature which is pristine. Set has never been played with. Size: 25½" x 6". Sold: Feb. 2007
